I was so pleased to be able to attend the Ty UK Beanie Collectors Party on Friday evening and participate in this great fundraising event in aid of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. The Ty UK team did the charity and the collectors proud with this special event. It was fun as well as fundraising.

I have put together a package of items that include the goody bag from this event, including the special Guest Pass on a lanyard and other collectable memorabilia, as well as Harrods Christmas Parade/Ty exclusives launch memorabilia - and of course Charles and Henry Beanies. This is the perfect package for those who would have loved to have been there, but couldn't.

Two other very special packages going up for auction (all proceeds from the CHERISH Harrods auctions going to research into children's cancers) are Charles and Henry in display boxes with the special launch day certificates - more than that, each bear has been signed on its hang tag and on its certificate by none other than Mohamed Al Fayed, owner of Harrods store!!! Charles has also been signed on his paw, which Mr Al Fayed thought was better as these bears do not come with the blank hang tag. I have not heard of any other of these new bears being signed by Mohamed Al Fayed; indeed, someone who tried to obtain signatures when Mr Al Fayed was signing bears for CHERISH was moved on by his security staff. Mr Al Fayed has always been very kind about signing bears for CHERISH so I was delighted to be able to find him in the store yesterday and ask him to do this once again. He is a well-known supporter of charities, in particular those that benefit children, and founder of the Al Fayed Charitable Foundation that helps various children's charities.
