I have been authorised to pass on the following
information, concerning the arrangements for the forthcoming Harrods
releases, and must say I am well impressed by what will be in place this
year. (The words in italic below are my additions)
Harrods Exclusive Launch - 3rd
November - Key Points :-
Queuing from Door 10
There will be guide ropes in place as well as signage,
and Security will be on hand throughout the morning.
Doors open at 8.30am
Doors will open at 8.30am, and customers will be
escorted to the Georgian Restaurant on the 4th floor in small groups to
continue queuing.
Only Door 10 will be open at this
time.
250 tickets will be handed out to the first people in
the queue in the Georgian Restaurant.
- This is solely in case of evacuation once inside
the building.
- We have found customers are unwilling to evacuate
as they lose their place in the
in the queue (in other words, if there was an
evacuation, the first 250 would still have their tickets for a later queue).
- These tickets do not guarantee you any Beanie
Babies.
Beanie Babies will be on sale from
9am
- All other Harrods doors will be opened at 9am, at
which time the Ty queue will
already be in the building.
- Queue jumping will not be tolerated. Queue jumpers
will be asked to rejoin
thequeue at the end.
- Customers with a Ty Invitation will be given their
free gift at the front of the queue
just before making a purchase.
Making a purchase
- More cash registers will be
available than ever before to reduce queuing
time.
- Allocated quantities of Beanie Babies have been
increased to cut down the number
of times people have to return to the queue.
(Please note - there will be no limit to
the number of Russian or Timeless Luxury Beanie
Babies a customer can buy - it
is first come, first served. (Note from me -
No information is available yet
about the other 2 Harrods Beanies which were
advertised in the recent Press
release - I will post this as soon as I have
it. I can say, though, that the
invitations for this event will be posted out
from this week)
- Tickets will be snipped when customers make a
purchase.
One purchases have been made, customers will be
directed out on a one-way system, and anyone wishing to join the queue again
will be directed through the Toy Kingdom, and back to
the Georgian Restaurant.
There will also be a small selection of other Beanies
available for sale (non-exclusive), but other Ty products will be available
in the Soft Toy room of the Toy Kingdom.

I think this is a real step forward in organisation,
and should make for an enjoyable morning for everyone...it's up to everyone
there to help make it work. isn't it?
