Ty Girlz ... where are you?  Many collectors are anxiously awaiting for the Ty Girlz to arrive in a store near them.  (None in our area yet either).  But some have been lucky enough to find them ... patience is a virtue!  Our friend Sakurako of Japan (Bottega Beanies) has posted some wonderful close-up photos of four of these new 'girlz', including the hang tag, a size comparison with a Beanie Bopper, and more.  Click on her website link above to view the photos.

 ...  'Chef Robuchon' Beanie Baby
Shared with several Beanie websites, Richard of the UK shares some interesting information ...

Sold only at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York ... 'Chef Robuchon', a special Beanie Baby with limited production.   Ty Warner brought the legendary chef L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon to New York and a Beanie Baby bear was made for him.   For additional information and a photo of this Beanie, click on the link below, posted on Ms. Janie's website.

BeanWatcher has also posted some informative details on this new Beanie, which can be read by clicking here.  With a limited edition of only 200, created only for journalists, and no more pieces remaining, it appears this Bear will remain only on the wish list for most collectors.  (I just added it to mine, along with Ronald McDonald.)

Today Ty launches a new look on the website (www.ty.com)   Accessible from the site now is the "original" version of Ty, as well as the Ty Girlz website.  The explorations and interactions are fun ... if you haven't checked them out yet, you may want to do so.  It's quite appealing and a nice change.

Today Ty introduces 'Salute' Beanie Baby, a Ty Store Exclusive.  Click on the link below to order this Bear.  (A retail version of this Beanie Baby was introduced by Ty on December 29, 2006.  The retail version has the flag on the bear's chest.)

 ...  'Happy Birthday' Beanie Babies
On March 30th, along with the April releases, Ty introduced red and blue 'Happy Birthday!' Beanie Babies.  Click here to view on Ty's website.   It appears there are 3 versions of each bear, each with a different colored hat.  Cindys Beans website has a photo of both red and blue "versions", sporting their different hat colors.  Click here to check them out.

Added Note:  4/12 ... One of our readers shares the following:
Hi Doodle; I just wanted to let you know there are different variations of both colors of the new birthday bear.  When visiting my local Hallmark today, they had just put them out and none of the beanies' hats looked the same.   There are several different (pale) ty-dyed hats, no two really looked exactly alike.  So just have fun picking out your favorite one.  *KJ*

 ...  Los Angeles Angels Give-Away
A reader of Bean Watcher shares news of a Beanie Baby give-away at an upcoming Major League Baseball game ... the Los Angeles Angels vs the Cleveland Indians.  The Exclusive Beanie Baby is 'Rally', a monkey, to be handed out on May 8, 2007.  The give-away doesn't state a particular age limit, as typical in the past ... it states "All Fans".

The Zoo's inaugural Ty Beanie Baby(R) celebrates the male grizzly bear who served as the foundation for the San Francisco Zoo in the early 1900s, despite never setting a paw in the Zoo's current location.

 ...  Boblins Not a UK Exclusive
The saga continues over the 'exclusiveness' of the 'Boblins' Beanie Babies.  These first four styles of Boblins were listed on Ty's website (when introduced on March 30th) as Canada/UK/Australia/New Zealand Exclusives.  The Boblins website states "Ty is set to launch Boblins Beanies in Australia, Canada, Spain, Portugal, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland."   There was no mention of the UK.  (John in the UK also wrote yesterday that "the Boblins will not be available in the UK itself - the programme with which they are associated is not screened here".

Thanks to Christy, who points out that now the "UK Exclusive" reference on Ty's website has been removed from the original announcement.  The UK Exclusive note has been replaced with Sweden.  The announcement NOW states ... "Canada/Sweden/Australia/New Zealand Exclusives".
