I have received the following email from a reader:

I thought I would share something with you - when I went into the Ty site just now, the opening (home) page has been redesigned again!

My first clue...as the page was loading, it came up as Ty (webtv), it has most recently said Ty (designed for webtv). When the page opened, it was the page that was used 2 or 3 redesigns ago...the one with the square in the upper right corner for the spinning newsflash, and all the navigational information around the sides and top.

Ty has had complaints from webtv users since the most recent redesign omitted us from newsflashes, so I'm not sure if the new page is just for "webbies", or everyone. Maybe Ty has decided that we're just that special!

Maison D'Ours (The Canadian Connection) has reported on the latest Ty 'happenings' in Canada. Lulu has also reported that Ty Canada plans to attend the CGTA Show in Toronto August 13-17 at the International Center. The Show will display Ty products intended for Canadian distribution, and perhaps new exclusives? The Show is not open to the public ... it is for buyers only. After noticing the flashing of Ty Trade this morning, we figured the relaunch would happen soon. Well, Ty Trade is now open ... U.S. registered users may now order their Speckles e-Beanie. According to the form, apparently Ty Trade is accepting registrations from Canada, the U.K., and Japan. But it appears that currently only U.S. residents can order the e-Beanie at this time.

... Retirement Prediction?
OK, several of you have asked what I feel will retire next. I ventured out today at lunch and saw lots of Beanie Kids at a local Hallmark (probably a retirement there!) and lots of Osito and Groovy Buddies (probably a good guess as well). I also saw two large Fuzz Buddies ... NEVER seen them in a store. So, go figure. It seems (at least around here) that an 'abundance' follows with a retirement ... but just merely guesswork right now. (I'm still not mentioning THE ONE I think will retire :) ... (It was quite interesting that not one store I stopped at has seen the new Dallas group yet, so they say anyway!) And so I continue to search ..... :)

Supposedly, after writing customerservice@tytrade.com, they have received a reply email informing them of an approximate ship date. If you got a chance to order yours already and wish to check on the status, be sure to give them the name, shipping address, and order # used when placing the order. (Perhaps this is an indication that Ty is catching up with deliveries and a hopefully to-be-launched soon Ty Trade again!)

Last week, the Maison D'Ours site reported that a visitor picked up a "River" Attic with a "Huntley" hang tag reading "Oh So Sly", style #6238. We wondered ... Perhaps more Attics on the horizon or a "sly" move on Ty's part? .... Now a second release mystery has evolved ... a reader from the UK reports yet another sighting: "Whilst shopping yesterday, I picked up three new Attics including a bear called 'Birch.' ... Beanie Babies Stolen from Zoo - by Zoo Worker
The man in the Cincinnati Zoo's gift shop looked like a really big animal lover. But in the span of a few minutes, prosecutors report that he filled several garbage bags with stuffed animals, Beanie Babies! He was later indicted on stealing $9,000 worth of merchandise from the gift shop - and if convicted, could face up to 18 months of prison time! You can read the complete story here.

A reader reports that all the newest Beanies from the Dallas Gift Show are showing up, and was lucky enough to find all 11 of them, except for India. (Cashew was noted as being 'too cute', and sold quite quickly.)

... Speckles Update
Smart Collecting reports having spoken with Ty Trade and informs us of the following:

Speckles the new E-Beanie bear that is only available for sale on TyTrade.com (to registered users) is NOT SOLD OUT. It was assured that everyone will be able to register soon on TyTrade.com and will be able to order up to 2 Speckles e-Beanies for $5/bear plus shipping and handling. They have "plenty" in their warehouse.

The problems everyone was having accessing the site, registering, and logging on were reportedly due to the fact that no one could have predicted the kind of traffic the site was receiving.

(Hopefully all the 'bugs' will be resolved soon, and the site will be up and running soon.)

... Ty Update
Now that the Dallas Gift Show Beanie Babies and Buddies have officially made their appearance on the Ty website, it leaves us wondering when the new Attic Treasures, Beanie Kids, Baby Ty, and Ty Classics will be listed as well. And tomorrow is the last day of the Atlanta Gift Show ... with more new Beanies and Ty Gear! (Got to go check and see how the new room addition plan to the house is coming along!!!)

Pete (beanburger) has informed us of a Speckles oddity he has up for auction on Ebay. As you can see, the right leg is shorter and curls up at the foot. You can view the auction here.

... Where are they?
As you know, the new Beanie Babies introduced at the Dallas Gift Show were announced Friday on the Ty website in a Newflash at http://www.ty.com/announcements/july_prod_beanies_intro.html.

The new Buddies are reportedly already showing up in the UK, but have yet to be announced on Ty's website - as well as the other new products from the Show. Perhaps we can expect an official announcement soon!

The Atlanta Gift Show runs July 8 - 12 ... it may be a while before that official announcement. But stay tuned, as lots of information should be forthcoming! :)

... Atlanta Gift Show - Update!
Ty released 13 more new Beanie Babies at the Atlanta Gift Show this morning, along with new Ty Gear® clothing. Retailing for $5-6, the Ty Gear will supposedly ship in September.

The Ty Gear individual outfits are:
Princess outfit - a satin blue dress and cone princess hat; Soccer player outfit - with cleets and shin guards; Baseball player outfit - with a baseball hat; Cheerleader outfit - complete with pom poms; Ballerina - with toe shoes; Partytime outfit - complete with a feather boa; Pajamas - comes with a teddy bear; Fireman - with a fire hat; Doctor - with doctor's mask, stethoscope; School outfit - with backpack; Summer outfit - with blue dress and picnic basket; Witch outfit -- with a pointed hat.

The 13 new Beanie Babies are:
A frog (sitting up); A fish (larger, like Lips and a muted Ty-dyed fabric); A new-faced bear (tan with brown color); A wolf (with fur on its neck); A vulture /condor (also has some fur); A panda (sitting up, much like Peking); A dinosaur (with a reptilian mane); Two dogs (one is possibly a Scottie and is tan and brown; the other is a light grey baby Lab); A turkey or peacock (with scaly legs, a blue head and feathers); A horse (sitting up, fur mane); A hamster/gerbil; An orangutan (very colorful - orange face)

4:00 pm ... (Earlier this morning, USA Bear's pic and name finally showed up on the Info Beanie Diary page. However, Sneaky's name and pic are shown again now.)

The Info Beanie (USA) mentions all 11 new Beanies and states the following:

Monday July 3, 2000 3:39 p.m.
The new Beanies are so cool! I especially like Lefty 2000 and Righty 2000! We had a great time testing each other on the names of the states and presidents. It was really funny though because there are certain presidents that Lefty 2000 likes more than other ones and Righty 2000 is the same way! The really funny part is that the ones they like are the exact opposite of each other! India and Sneaky had a great time climbing trees. Sneaky made sure to warn India not to go too high up though. Fetcher, Sniffer and Rufus ran races all afternoon and they all curled up together to take a nap. Cashew, Cinders and Aurora had a great time together. I don't know what they were talking about but it must have been funny because they were laughing an awful lot! Squirmy and Morrie spent a lot of time looking for pictures in the clouds. I tried to talk to Peekaboo but he's so shy he would hardly say anything. I'm sure he’ll overcome his shyness as soon as he gets to know all of us. Swampy and Cheezer seem to hit it off just great! I think they are going to be the best of buds. Runner seemed to be a little grumpy but I think he's just a little shy too. I bet he'll be everyone's friend in just a couple of days! I'm going to get back to the barbecue so I'll talk to you later. Bye!
