As we noted yesterday, Ty has posted the three new Beanie Boppers (Happy Hanna, Precious Penny, and Silly Sara) on the 'current' list. The homepages are noted as well ... (however, we did notice 'Precious Penny's' homepage reads 'Pretty Penelope'!)

The Beanie Bopper lists (including Teenie Beanie Boppers) are now updated, with the exception of course of the newest Bopper's birthdays, which only appear on the inside of the hang tag.

12:25 pm EDT ... Ty Store has two new offers now available ... Beanie Kids with Ty Gear - 'Uncle Sam' and 'Stars and Stripes'. The Ty Gear outfits are offered separately at retailers ... it appears this offer is for a Beanie Kid already in the Ty Gear attire. Both are listed as $13 each.

Update: Ty has posted a newsflash "Ty Store" on the main page, which directs you to the Ty Store page. The Beanie Kids offered are 'Buzz' with Uncle Sam Ty Gear and 'Princess' with Stars and Stripes Ty Gear. Normally, the Beanie Kids sell for around $8 and the Ty Gear sells for approx $5 at retail. (Both Buzz and Princess are still current, but some collectors are having a hard time finding this Ty Gear.... I would imagine the patriotic Ty Gear will retire soon, with July 4th just around the corner. They are a cute pair, ya know!)


... Ty Teddy Bear Anniversary Coin
Ms. Janie has shared a link to an eBay auction showing a gold coin given to retailers at the Dallas Trade Show. The coin celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Teddy Bear. The picture is a bit blurry, as it looks like the coin is in plastic, but you can still get an idea what the coin looks like. Perhaps it's similar to the medallion around "Teddybearsary" Classic and "Teddy" Beanie Baby's neck?

... A Group of Champions
Every team that participated in the World Cup is a 'champion'. And attempting to collect all 32 'Champion' Beanie Babies and/or Buddies was a big challenge for those that tried to accomplish that goal. Sue (QueenieBeanie) did it! With the help of collectors from Ms. Janie's message board, she was successful and has sent a photo of the 'gang' to her. Congrats, Sue! (I'm amazed that she got ALL of them to 'sit properly' ... I have had a difficult time in the past, with half that amount, as somehow they manage to have a domino effect just before the camera clicks LOL).

Well, Hallmark got their shipment of Celebrations today. They only got 12 and said that Celebrations would be shipping in 'limited amounts'. I wonder if that means they will retire soon. Dallas Show:
As you probably know, today is the first day of the Dallas Trade Show. You may recall that last year was Ty's 15th Anniversary ... shown at the Show - 'Celebrate' Beanie Baby and Buddy, the People's Beanie 'Classy', and the Birthday Beanie Bear collection was introduced. So is a 16th Anniversary party planned? Presumably we shall see the introduction of 'Teddybearsary Classic', 'Teddy Beanie' ... and more. As soon as any information is available, we shall pass it along. :)

Today is the second day of the quarterfinals of the World Cup Soccer Game ... Spain vs South Korea (match 59) and Senegal vs Turkey (match 60).

... Summer!
Today is officially the first day of summer ... although in this area, I thought summer has arrived a couple of weeks ago! We're just wishing for rain right now ... we're currently under voluntary water conservation. It's VERY dry. So dry that a HUGE snake slithered across our deck the other morning, looking for water! (Wonder if the flowers there REALLY need that water now? Hmmm) It's the loudest I've screamed in a while anyway!

Perhaps Ty will have a 'goodbye spring' party and retire some products today? The Dallas Show starts tomorrow ... one would think it would be a good time to retire some of them. We shall see!

11:15 am EDT ... On June 11th, Steve wrote to inform us of an auction he had on eBay of a rare 'Dad-e' Beanie Baby (with "Love" on both feet). (See note below and click here to view the auction). The auction has now ended at $305.00 with 13 bids.

An earlier auction on eBay by another seller was for a rare 'Dad-e' Beanie (with "You" on both feet). Click here to view the auction. That auction ended at $202.50 with 16 bids.

Looks like these two bears got their legs mixed up in the 'shuffle' somewhere :)

11:30 am EDT ... Update: The site seems to be up and running smoothly now.

(After visiting with my Dad today, as well as Mom's birthday, Sunday was a busy but nice day ... the first time 'out' in almost 3 weeks since the surgery. I was supposed to wait another two weeks, but just couldn't handle staying inside ANY longer! The hubby drove, of course, and they're only about 5 minutes away.) Some would say I'm "almost" back to 'normal' again ... but the question is 'was I ever?' LOL)

Doodle's Note: I noticed that link (http://www.tytrade.com/store_6_retired) when Ty Store reflected the retirement of Soar on Friday. I would think it perhaps means that this particular URL will be used to reflect the upcoming (eventual) retirements of Rescue and Courage (Beanies and Buddies) as well as the (white) America Beanie.

Q: Why does your company change the hang/tush tags now and then, ex. "Beanie Baby" around the foil star to "Beanie Babies" around the foil star. (submitted by Blurby)
A: Most of the tag changes mark the beginning of a new year. Check your Beanies from 2 years ago, their hang tags have "2000" written across a large holographic star - or it could have the word "Zodiac" across the top. Here's a question for you . . . Have you ever looked close at the tush tag holograms ?

... Tradee Buddy / Dad-e Arrive in the UK from Ty Store
We have received the following two emails from the UK, notifying us of their Ty Store shipment arrivals:

Hi Debs, I had my 2 Tradee Buddies arrive in the UK from Ty Store today. Simply just 2 Buddies in a cardboard box, no inner packing or tag protectors or anything. The buddies were free to shake around within the box, I'm just amazed that they haven't been damaged. Not sure I'll be making anymore Ty Store orders after this, though. It hasn't been worth the hassle recently of having to return items that were damaged. DJ
