Coming Soon
Looks like a busy tyme soon for Ty collectors. With the
anticipation of over 20 new Beanies, new Buddies, new Classic, etc.,
there is also the expectation of new products in Ty Store, the
upcoming July BBOTM, the McDonald's Teenie Beanies next month, and
more. And speaking of Teenie Beanies, looks like Randy's (Beanieholics)
report (see our news
of May 3rd) is 'right on the money':
Hi,
('Ronald McDonald') could very well be the Beanie version to
a possible Teenie Beanie version coming in July. I will say that I
have heard that these Teenies to be offered at McDonalds will have
bear heads and the bodies of McDonalds characters. Have not been able
to confirm it but it is not that far out there after seeing the Ronald
Beanie. So we could be looking at Teenie Bear versions of Grimace,
Hamburglar and others. ~Randy
One of Ms. Janie's readers writes of receiving a black
and white (flyer) copy of the McDonald's Teenies ... The promotion
starts July 23rd. In this upcoming group are 12 bears, which
include the following:
Ronald McDonald
Grimace
Hamburglar
Birdie
Happy Meal
Golden Arches
Big Red Shoe
Fries
Shakes
McNuggets
Burger
Happy Meal 25th Birthday (see below)

Dallas Trade Show
Today begins the Dallas Trade Show (June 25-29) at the Dallas
Market Center, World Trade Center. (Perhaps the "I Love
Texas" bear will make an appearance?) We will keep you
posted of any 'new' news whenever it becomes available. (See
a photo of this bear at the 'Ty Summer Show 2004 Schedule' link

LOTS of New Beanies Coming?
Beanies coming out quarterly, instead of monthly? The recent
'rumors' of more releases (less frequently) may just be true.
(Been collecting a while? ... Sound familiar?) A post on the Ty
Cyberboard reads:

...
Could It Be 'Tyme'?
Sly the Beanie guy shared news with collectors some time
ago about a new trademark application by Ty. Since that time,
many have anticipated a new line of 'Ty wrist watches'. Could we
perhaps be seeing new watches by Ty soon? Noted on the Ty
Cyberboard:
New product line for Ty?
ironacorn (Jun 23, 2004, 08:16 AM)
Message Id: 759506
I checked with a Ty retailer yesterday about a rumor I'd heard and
wasn't able to learn anything about that particular rumor. However, I
was told her Ty rep had just been in and was showing her a line of
wrist watches. When I asked if they had anything unique about them to
show it was a Ty watch she went and got the folder the rep left. (The
retailer liked the wrap around type that's meant to fit all.) I
couldn't see that any of the watches in the flyer had a picture or
marking or whatever to say they were a Ty product. So what's up with
this? Anyone heard something on this?

New 'Ask Ty' Q & A
A new 'Ask Ty' question and answer has been posted on Ty's
website:
Q: When you go to create
the Beanies, what is the toughest stage of the creation to complete? (submitted
by Oats=fun)
A: Probably the toughest is the approval stage. Many of the Beanies go
through multiple rounds of prototyping before they are ready for
production. For example - Jumpshot went through 6 revisions before I
felt the proportions were just right and Huggins needed a little tweak
in the ears to get ready for Beanie fame !

What's Next?
It's hard to believe that it's soon approaching the end of
June. Perhaps some retirement announcements by Ty soon?
Some new products for July? And it won't be long before it's
July BBOTM tyme :)
Any thoughts on 'The Snoozers Collection'? (Sly mentioned this new Ty Trademark application several weeks ago.)
Just a quick note ... While out
shopping today, I saw the 'Garfield' Beanie and was quite
impressed. That IS one adorable Beanie! The rest of the
Garfield gang are appealing as well, but something about that Garfield
that really magnetizes the eyes!

Looks like there won't be one. Remember Monday's note regarding the absence of 'Dominion's' ribbon around his neck? Looks like it has now been removed from his picture on the Ty Store page. The ribbon is also now missing on his picture on Ty's current Beanie Babies list. Just an interesting observation. |

Today (6th June) sees the

This marked the beginning of the end of World War II and the eventual
liberation of Europe.
Following on from last week's auction (which ends today, Sunday, at
8 pm British Summer Time) to observe Memorial Day in the USA, I have
dressed some more Beanies on the theme of D Day and Heroes: UK Hero,
dressed in Army kit, Ronnie, in Naval uniform and Bearon, in RAF
sweater.
... Some of the proceeds from the auctions will be donated to
