Today Ty announces a Ty Warner Sea Center limited edition of
'Finn', the shark Beanie Baby. The introduction on Ty's site states it
will be available July 17th. Presumably, this special shark will only be
available by visiting the Sea Center. A retail version of this Beanie was
also introduced today, but appears to be a different color.

.... CHERISH Auction Update
Sue Owen shares the following:
Hi, New CHERISH auctions have
started for some interesting sports-related items to raise money in aid of The
Bobby Moore Fund of Cancer Research UK, which raises funds for bowel cancer
research and awareness of the disease, in memory of Bobby Moore who died from
bowel cancer at the age of 51. It is 40 years since England won the World Cup in
1966 and the legendary Bobby Moore lifted the cup for the now-famous photograph
- we are pinning our hopes on lifting the trophy again this year!!! Every item
sold through CHERISH on eBay this month comes with an official Bobby Moore Fund
pin badge.
This week there are 8 auctions running: some items are signed by sporting icons:
England, signed by Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff (England Cricketer and winner of
several awards) and Victory signed by British Olympic medallists in rowing,
judo and athletics. There are some special packages of Beanies with themed
memorabilia, such as Deke with a miniature Toronto Maple Leafs ice hockey shirt,
George with a selection of official commemorative items (Bobby Moore coin, Royal
Mail World Cup Winners Stamps), Scrum (with added rugby ball) and Leonard with
items from The Rugby Store, Pompey, Premier and a Portsmouth Football Club shirt
with the Ty logo on the front.
One very special and rare item is the Korean hang tag version of Korea Champion.
In addition to the 32 Champion Beanies produced in 2002 for the World Cup, Ty
produced the Japan and Korean bears with another hang tag version: the
information inside is written in the language of that (host) country.

Barbaro, the Kentucky Derby winner who is recovering from a broken right
rear leg, had another good day yesterday at the George D. Widener Hospital
for Large Animals at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center in
Kennett Square, Pa. His owners, Roy and Gretchen Jackson, also reported they
have signed with The Breyers Line and Beanie Babies to produce a plastic
replica and Beanie Baby of Barbaro, respectively. "Any and all the money
that is earned from these items is going to the New Bolton Barbaro Fund or
other horse-related charity," Gretchen Jackson said.

.... Ms. Janie's Ty Memories Contest
One of the reasons I first began this website (almost 11 years
ago) was simply the interest in "doodling" with "a website" ... Beanies
definitely added to the fun and it has been a wonderful "hobby" over the years.
The memories are definitely unforgettable - the people we have 'met' along the
way; the fun of finding that certain Beanie and the disappointments when we JUST
missed one -- ah, how we remember the loooong lines we stood in, following the
UPS truck as he made his rounds to Ty retailers, and lots lots more. One
of my special memories is the visit to Ms. Janie's home. I was treated
like a Queen and felt like a member of her family. Ty, along with the
maintenance of our websites, brought our friendship together.

Today Ty introduces a new Garfield Beanie Baby ... "His
Majesty". This is in conjunction with the upcoming movie "A Tail of Two
Kitties", as shown on the announcement. The movie is expected to be
released in U.S. movie theatres on Friday, June 16th.
... (Although a little late posting as we were away most of the day,
thanks to Jennie for alerting us of the news this morning.)
While the title of A Tail of Two Kitties, is a parody of the classic novel "A Tale of Two Cities", it is based upon Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper. Garfield travels to London and manages to trade roles with a rich, English, fat, orange cat named Prince. Click here for more movie info.

As promised, the CHERISH auction is now running for a special Beatrix Potter
package, comprising the three UK exclusive Beatrix Potter Ty Beanies in hand
before they are on sale in the shops, a new edition of 'The Tale of Peter
Rabbit', published in 2002 to commemorate Peter Rabbit's centenary, and a
special edition gold foil cover book of 'The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit', only
available during 2006 in this edition. Also included is a lovely Peter Rabbit
card with an information leaflet all about Beatrix Potter and her book
characters.
You will, I hope, find the CHERISH auction
informative as well as tempting! I have added a Buy It Now price, which will
only last as long as no regular auction bid is placed. If anybody uses the Buy
It Now option I will add a specially designed and hand-knitted/embroidered Peter
Rabbit themed sweater to fit a regular size Beanie Bear to the rest of the
package. If the auction continues with regular bidding and exceeds £50, I will
add the sweater. The starting price of the auction, £29.99, equals the
retail value of the items included (the Beanies, card and 2 books).

I cannot tell you how wonderful these Beanies are in reality! The detail is
fantastic and very faithful to the book illustrations. Any Ty collector or
Beatrix Potter fan would be delighted with them. They are amazing value
considering all the work that must have gone into the making of them and all the

Hi again from the UK! Here we go again! At last the long awaited
Beatrix Potter beanies are here...and with them, a surprise!
I see the Ty website shows 2 versions of each of these beanies.
The shop at the Beatrix Potter Attraction in the Lake District shows the
same pictures as the announcement page with the blue embroidery BUT
when you go to their order page, it mentions the gold!
I quote :-
"Exclusive
Limited Edition TY Beanie Baby of Jeremy Fisher with Gold embroidered
name on figure"
and its the same for all three!
So does this mean the gold version will only be there and presumably at
Harrods - or will retailers get a mix of both? Tyme will tell, as
they say....but one thing's for sure, Ty UK rocks again!!!
I'll be in the
Lake District on Saturday to see for myself, and will send you a full
