... A Sneak Peek !!
Remember the "hints" from Beanieland News we
posted last Wednesday? ... a lion, a (security guard) dog, and a
dolphin? Looks like they may be introduced by Ty soon. An
'anonymous reader' has sent images of these new Beanie Babies, and a few
'unexpected' ones as well. If you wish to take a peek at a
few of them,
click here to view - they will probably
be introduced VERY SOON, so keep on eye on the Ty website ! :)
... NESS-e
- Update from John
We shared news earlier this month
from John (the phoenix) of the UK, where he kindly shared an article he
had composed of the new NESS-e Beanie Baby, Key-Clip, and Ty Classic.
Today John writes with the following update:
Hi Deb, A quick note - I've updated the article underneath, to include photos of the NESS-e Classic, which is available from tomorrow. The Loch Ness Exclusive Classic has a style number # 56009, and the retail version is style # 56010.
Welcome NESS-e!
Hope things are fine with you. I start a new project tomorrow, so may be
"out of things" for the summer...but I will be back!

Thanks for sharing, John - and good luck with your summer endeavors!

... BB2.0
General Store
Brendan (aka Sloth It Up) shares
the following:
Hello, big BB2.0 news today! The general store is now open. There
are two parts to the store- an actual store and a trading post. The
store includes several different food items and also items for the Big
Book of Beanies. The trading post allows users to trade in
unwanted items in exchange for beans. Prices vary for each item, which I
show on my website. The garden is the answer to the mysterious
watering can users obtained a while back. In the garden (located at the
Beanies home), beans from the back pack are used to grow bean stalks
which in turn produce beans. I still haven't figured it out entirely...
too complicated lol. More information and pictures can be
found on my site.
Thanks!
Brendan

... New
2.0 Beanie Babies?
If you've been watching the 'Beanieland News'
and Videos on Ty's website, you may think that it might be possible that
Ty is throwing a few hints of new Beanies to come. While observing
the first video, the Beanies are "attacked by hungry
Seagulls", and later (in the BLN video)
Snootz mentions "royalty living among us" - a lion, stated as
King of the Jungle and a 'photo' depicting "Midas"
as the lion's name. There is also mention of a
"security guard" dog named 'Trooper'.
And the monster in the lake turns out to be a
dolphin. So .... are these hints, or part of a cute
story Ty has put together? We shall see :)

Lefty's and Righty's
Sakurako of Japan (Bottega

group of Beanie Babies. Shown in the photos are Lefty, Lefty
2000, Lefty 2004, and Lefty BB2.0 (2008); and the same for Righty.
As you are probably aware, the latest pair of Beanie Babies do not have
the year "2008" on the hang tag or tush tag.
... Thanks for sharing, Sakurako.

(Regular Sized) New Wonder Pets Beanie Babies
What's the difference in 'Ming-Ming'
Beanie Baby that accompanied the book "Teamwork Saves the Day" vs
'Ming-Ming available at Ty retailers? (See photos below
of the "book version" Beanie Baby, shared on January 14th by
Sakurako of
Japan (Bottega
Beanies). Apparently, these new Beanies are
"regular size" (announced by Ty on May 30th) ... Read
the Ty Cyberboard post below.

This
may be old news but the new Wonder Pets are regular sized Beanies
PattiBuddy, FerociousPlatypus (Jun 17, 2008, 04:30 PM)
Message Id: 1185066
PattiBuddy, FerociousPlatypus writes:
.... I had previously answered someone's post
saying how the older Ming Ming (that came with the book), was small like Louis
the mouse from the Garfield series. Well today I found the latest Wonder Pets, (
at a regular Hallmark- Apollo Flag in Totowa, NJ to be more specific) and they
are around normal Beanie size. So the older Ming Ming looks like a "mini me" of
the newer one.
I was happy we didn't have to buy any "extras" (like the book) to get these.
Also, for those that like to collect the Ty display cardboard bins, they had one
for these Wonder Pets. I didn't ask to have it though because they had a full
display haha. Thought I'd "be good" haha.
Good luck to all trying to find these and enjoy your day!

Tourism Boost From 'Ness-e'
Article - Tourism
boost from 'Ness-e' toy
Published: 13 June, 2008 -
The Inverness Courier
NESSIE — or "Ness-e" the new collectable toy — is not only selling across the globe but is doing a double for the tourism industry in the Highlands. A total of 5000 Ness-e Beanie Baby's are being sold exclusively by the Loch Ness Centre in Drumnadrochit. Since hitting the shelves on Monday, nearly 1000 of the toys have already been sold with some orders being shipped as far afield as Singapore, Japan and the US. The toy is the third addition to the centre's collection of official Ty beanie monsters which started four years ago with the introduction of Mystery, a blue Loch Ness monster. It was followed last year by Enigma and now Ness-e, which is dark green in colour, is proving the latest must-have for visitors and Beanie Baby collectors. Linda Ross, retail manager for the centre, said they were being snapped up by people of all ages and backgrounds, including professionals such as doctors. News of the exclusive launch is spreading fast over the internet among collectors and feedback so far is proving positive. The toys, which are marked with a special logo, are being sold exclusively by the centre, although a UK edition of Ness-e without the logo is available elsewhere

--- June 6, 2004, the same poem (see below), but different style
numbers -- UK version
(style #46125); Loch Ness Shop version (style #46124).
Poem:
If by happenstance you see
Something swim by peacefully
What could it be? I'll never say
Because a secret it must stay!

Halloween & Halloweenie Beanies (and more)
We know, it's not yet Summertime - how can we
think Halloween? Well, if you're a Beanie collector, you may just
want to check out these holiday-themed products. There are
Beanie Babies, Pluffies, Classics, and more. A reader writes to
Ms. Janie with the
following:
Halloween Releases
available for ordering
I just got the Halloween releases that are available for ordering now
but will be shipping in August. There is a 2.0 Black Cat named
Scaredy, style # 42031. Trickster and Treator bears are Beanie
Babies available as an assortment, style # 40735. As is Vanish the
Ghost, style # 40736. Yes, Ty is going to produce some beanie babies and
I for one am very glad to hear it. Unfortunately, he has raised the
price on them so they will now be selling for the same price as the 2.0.
There is a new 5 piece set of Halloweenie beanies named: Van Pyre
(#35113), Sheetsies (#35112), EEks (#35114), Treatsies (#35116) and
Boneses (#35115). Trickery the black cat (#32114) and Frighten the
ghost (#32113) are new Pluffies and Fogs (#70030) is a new classic Owl.
Everything else shown will be available for ordering (just in case you
didn't get them last year).
Enjoy, Dorothy

Newsflash - Ness-e Introduction
Following a round of chatter
which has recently surfaced on the internet, Ty has officially

a Key-Clip.

on Ness-e
John (the phoenix) from the UK
writes:
Hi Deb, A bit of
news---at last! "Ness-e" has finally been announced on the Ty
Site. Ness-e appears to be a darker shade of green than Enigma, and
comes as a Classic, Beanie and Key Clip...and the Beanie is NOT a 2.0,
but an original. According to my information, The Loch Ness shop
will carry exclusive versions of all three in this set, which will each
have the shop logo embroidered into the fabric, as was the case with
Enigma last year. There will also be retail versions of all three
items, which will be available to order throughout the UK. The Loch
Ness shop will launch the release next Monday, June 9th, but is not
taking orders until that date, and none of the items will be available
elsewhere until after that date also. The Beanie and the key-clip
versions will be available initially, and the Classic versions round
about the end of June.
