Babies - Past Promos (Photos)
Ty Teenie Beanie Babies are a memory to
any Beanie Baby collector. In 1997, Ty first introduced the McDonald's
TBB's Snort, Quacks, Goldie, Pinky, Chops, Lizz, Chocolate, Patti, Seamore, and
Speedy. Up until 2006, they were always a fun and exciting time ... visit
McDonalds and see if you could get the entire series. As you know, a new
promo begins at McDonalds on July 17th. To help cherish some memories, one
of our readers (Jason of TN) has shared some photos of previous promo items -
quite a collection. Jason writes:

After checking the MLB websites over the last couple of weeks for upcoming promos, today many of them have now posted the giveaways. While browsing through them, although I didn't see a NY Yankees Buddy listed (yet), I did come across a 'Rally' Beanie Baby to be given away on July 2nd at a Los Angeles Angels vs the Baltimore Orioles game at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The Angels website states ... " Uncle Sam Ty Beanie Baby Rally Monkey" to be given away to "all fans in attendance". Kick off the Patriotic weekend in style and get this exclusive Uncle Sam Ty Beanie Baby Rally Monkey." You may recall, a 'Rally' LA Angels game Exclusive Beanie Baby was given away (to all fans) on May 8, 2007, and retired the next day. 'Click here for Rally' Retirement (2007) .

TBB Promotion Website
The webmaster of PeaceMania.com has initiated a new branch-off of his
website, devoted to the upcoming TBB promo at McDonalds, which begins July 17th.
It's set up similar to a blog format. He shares the following:
I
just thought I'd drop you a line to tell you about my latest venture: a website
devoted to the new Teenie Beanie promotion. I'm using my pre-existing website
Peace Mania to host this new page, teenies.peacebears.com. In
addition to reporting news and events about the Teenies (as it becomes
available), I will also be editorializing a little about issues related to this
Teenie event. Teenies.peacebears.com is set up similar to a blog format. My
plans are to keep things fresh and fun. Needless to say, I'm really
excited about the Teenies; especially since I've fallen into a Beanie rut the
last several years. I hope that this event will inspire other collectors to
regain an interest in a passion that has been such an exciting part of our lives
for the last 10 to 20 years! I encourage site visitors to check back
often (I may even be hosting a contest or two) and sign up for my mailing list,
which will alert visitors to updates. I also hope that site visitors will send
me their thoughts and news and pictures, and even spend some time discussing the
Teenies on the Peace Mania Message Forum, to which I have added a couple new
boards pertaining to the Teenies. My hope for teenies.peacebears.com
is that it will get other collectors (especially the "in-rut" collectors)
excited about Beanies again. I am really looking forward to July 17!

McDonalds Teenie Beanie Promo (Update)
Coming in July ... Ty Teenie Beanie Babies at McDonalds (see June 4th news
below for additional info.) After searching through the McDonald's
website today, we have found an announcement on this new upcoming promo.
There are 30 Teenie Beanies in this promo, set to begin next month --- 30 TBB's
celebrating Happy Meal's 30th birthday!

Ice Age Beanie Babies - Photos

The movie "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" debuts in July 2009 (4th of July weekend) in digital 3D. From seeing the movie trailer, it is quite amazing. Click here to view the movie preview. While watching it, what did I think? ... Wouldn't a Beanie Baby series be awesome! So a bit of research was in store for me. (After all, news is a bit slow these days.) Beanie Boos (Too Cute!)
We would like to extend a special thanks to our readers - Lynn, Steve,

Just to let you know the Beanie
Boos have arrived in the UK. It is a limited release for June,
apparently only 1000 were delivered to the UK, to be followed by a

Concert Series Set to Resume at Ty Warner Park

The Westmont Park
District is set to resume its Concerts in the Park music series this month with
a variety of live music during the summer. The event will kickoff at 7:30
p.m. Wednesday, June 17, with the music of The Runaways, which is described as a
the songs of the 1950’s. Concerts are held at the Ty Warner gazebo, near Plaza
and Blackhawk drives. Other concerts will be held each Wednesday evenings,
with the exception of July 1. Residents are invited to bring blankets or lawn
chairs, and there is a limited number of picnic tables at the park. Parking is
available in the south or west parking lots. The concerts are free. For
more information, including a complete list of dates and performers, visit the
Westmont Park District Web site at wpd4fun.org.

Beanie Boos
A couple of weeks ago, we received word that Ty
should be introducing a new product this Summer; it was stated as "Beanies
with HUGE eyes that would draw YOUR eyes to them". It seems that may just
be true, as Richard from the UK writes:
Hi Doodle,
The Beanie Boos are
coming!! I am sure
you have heard, but I can confirm that Ty will
be releasing a new range of beanies towards the end of this month in a
set of 8 pieces which Ty have
called 'Beanie Boos'.
Each Beanie Boo is a really cute animal with
oversize eyes, designed to appeal to both the collector and younger
customer alike (they are also designed to have a lower retail price than
a standard Beanie so as to keep their retails price below the £5
ceiling. These beanies are due into us at the end of June and will
be initially released in the UK.
Ty is only bringing 1000 sets into the UK and so retailers are being allocated really small numbers of sets - I will only receive between 6-12 sets.
The set comprises the following Beanie Boos:
Marshmallow (Bush Baby)
Bubble Gum (Koala)
Coconut (Monkey)
Kiwi (Frog)
Bamboo (Panda)
Slush (Husky)
Peanut (Elephant)
Waddle (Penguin)

Twisty - Photos
The Walgreens Exclusive Beanie Babies, Twirly and
Twisty, were silently introduced by Ty on May 7th. One of our readers
(Jason of TN) has kindly shared photos of these two cute monkeys, which can be
viewed by clicking on the link below. .... Note the unique 'tail'
characteristic on these Beanies!

Hey Deb, Wanted to send you pics of the new monkeys. They are
fantastic! TY really did a good job on these little guys. The colors are VERY
bright and the tails have some type of actual curly "spring" inside that when
you pull the tail out straight, it curls back up when you let go. As you can
see, the face on Twisty is actually purple with purple thread and on Twirly it
is pink with pink thread. Hope you enjoy. Jason in TN

... A New Month
Yes, it's hard to believe June is here! That
has always seemed to me to be the "official" beginning of summer. :)
So we welcome vacations, school breaks, lazy days by a pool, and yes, for most
of us, HOT weather.
We all know Beanie news is rather slow these days. But perhaps a few new
releases by Ty soon. Just keep an eye on the Ty website, and of course,
we'll be sure to keep you posted here as well. (And no, we're not sharing
pictures - yet :D)
