... April is Almost Here
Can you believe ... Springtime is here, and April is just around the corner. To my knowledge, there have not been any retirements (yet) by Ty as it typically the case for the end of the month. New products should (assumably) be announced next week. (And don't forget, April 1st is Wednesday ... don't let anyone play an April Fool's trick on you! :)

The Beanie Baby 'Quackly' (added to Ty Store on Wednesday) has now disappeared. As I stated earlier, if you see a Beanie you wish to have, don't wait - It may just not be there tomorrow. There have been numerous additions and deletions lately.

Good Morning Deb-doodle, I just finished reading your newsletter and I thought that I might mention that the beanie babies and beanies buddy pages aren't the only departments getting an "overhaul". I was surprised to click on the Nickleodeon page and find that there is listed 44 pieces or at least 5 pages of products. There is also the Springtime Bear listed under BowWow Beanies. It appears that Ty is really trying to clean the warehouse. The unfortunate thing is that most of the collectors who want these pieces have already purchased them either locally or from the secondaries. How is that new beanie list coming along? It appears that different Beanie Babies are continuously being removed and added in Ty Store over the last couple of weeks. Until today, Ty Store showed Hootsey, Heartland, Eggs, Luckier, and Meekins. (Hopson, Nibbles, and Floxy had been removed.) Today Baaabsy Bag, Hutch Clutch, and Beanies Sheepishly, Springer, Quackly, Hopsy, Henley, Hootsey, Heartland, Luckier, and Hutches are available. As I stated before, my advice ... if you see a Beanie you wish to have, don't wait - It may just not be there tomorrow.

Last Monday, March 9th, Dublin and McWooly Beanie Buddies appeared in Ty Store. Their introduction / retirement dates were:

... 'Ni Hao, Kai-lan' (Update)
Last month, we posted exclusive news of a new Ty product supposedly on the horizon ... from the Nickelodeon series "Ni Hao, Kai-lan". These new products were on the Barnes & Noble website as "pre-order", with no available photos. (The entire post is noted below.) Yesterday, upon checking the status, we noted they have (at least currently) been removed. So, will they be introduced at a later date? Tyme will tell. Click here to visit the Barnes & Noble website

... Game Exclusive - Another 'Rally' Beanie Baby
After checking the MLB websites over the last couple of weeks for upcoming promos, today many of them have now posted the giveaways. While browsing through them, although I didn't see a NY Yankees Buddy listed (yet), I did come across a 'Rally' Beanie Baby to be given away on July 2nd at a Los Angeles Angels vs the Baltimore Orioles game at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The Angels website states ... " Uncle Sam Ty Beanie Baby Rally Monkey" to be given away to "all fans in attendance". Kick off the Patriotic weekend in style and get this exclusive Uncle Sam Ty Beanie Baby Rally Monkey." You may recall, a 'Rally' LA Angels game Exclusive Beanie Baby was given away (to all fans) on May 8, 2007, and retired the next day. 'Click here for Rally' Retirement (2007) .

... Now Available in Ty Store
On Monday, the Holiday Beanies - 2008 Holiday Teddy, Trimmings, Howlidays, Yule, and Snowbank - were removed from Ty Store. (As of now, they are still listed as 'current' on Ty's website.) On Tuesday, 'McLucky' was silently retired and removed from Ty Store - and replaced with the St. Patrick's Day Beanie 'Luckier'. NOW, several Beanies (Easter-themed) have been made available in Ty Store ... Hopson, Meekins, Eggs, Nibbles, and Floxy.

... (Silent) BB2.0 Intro
Several of our readers have informed us that a new "version" of Scholars has silently appeared in Ty's BB2.0 list. Last year, on April 1st, Ty introduced Scholars Beanie Baby 2.0, with a "Class of 2008" graduation cap (still listed as current). Today a new Scholars has appeared in Ty's BB2.0 current list, with no cap. The poems and birthdays are different ... see below. I do know, these (silent) "appearing" / "disappearing" Ty products are a bit tricky to keep up with. :)

The Beanie Baby 2.0 St. Patrick's Day Bear 'McLucky' has (silently) retired. McLucky was introduced as a Ty Store Exclusive on February 13, 2008.

On February 20th, we posted a photo (shown below) of the three UK Exclusive 'Hello Kitty' Beanie Babies, shared by Richard of the UK. Today, Sakurako of Japan (Bottega Beanies) shares photos of the hang tags of each of these three kittens (Additional photos can be viewed on her site.)

... Now They're Gone - (well, almost)
Today several Beanie Babies have been removed from Ty Store. The Holiday Beanies ... 2008 Holiday Teddy, Trimmings, Howlidays, Yule, and Snowbank. were placed in Ty Store on December 16th; they were officially introduced on October 2nd.) As of this moment, they are still listed as 'current' on Ty's website.

Also, two St. Patrick's Day Beanie Buddies are now available in Ty Store - Dublin and McWooly.

So ... are you confused yet? :)

... Website Anniversary
Today I celebrate 13 years of running this website. As you know, my nickname is 'Doodle' ... I love art / creativity. I was always 'doodling' in school and often gave my teachers quite a laugh (while trying to stay out of trouble, of course :). When Beanie Babies were first introduced (1993-1994), I considered running a Beanie Baby website. Incidentally, 'Doodle' Beanie Baby's birthday is March 8, 1996. The combination of these factors began the site on that date.

Of course, the biggest reward is the friends and fans I've gotten to 'know' over the years; I wouldn't be here without YOU. I hope you continue to enjoy the site. Thanks to everyone !!!

... Is It or Isn't It?
As a Beanie collector, one of our readers (Vicky aka vtigna) has a curious question. She writes:

I am a faithful reader of your Ty Beanie news. ... Thank you for keeping me up to date with all Ty/Beanie news.

I have a question please: About a month ago, I saw the movie (at my local Walmart) Horton Hears a Who with a Beanie-like elephant sold with the DVD like other DVDs have been sold in the past. As I didn't want to destroy the box (I wasn't buying the item), I could not see if there was a Ty tag anywhere. Do you know if this was a Ty product? I've asked questions on Ty's boards about these movies in the past and because they are never listed any place on his site, sometimes my questions go unanswered.

... Doodle's note: Thanks for writing, Vicky. That video caught my eye on WalMart's website several weeks ago; I noticed the referral of a "plush" included with the DVD, The description reads "Horton Hears a Who! (With Plush Toy and Digital Copy) (Widescreen, Limited Edition, Special Edition)" Sadly for us Beanie collectors, it doesn't appear to be a Ty product. But we can wish, can't we! :) (Pinocchio plush (with DVD was another one I was really hoping would be as well.)

... (Silent) Retirements, etc.
It has been brought to our attention that the 2008 Halloweenie Beanies are now listed as retired. They presumably retired today, with no official announcement by Ty. The 2008 Halloweenie Beanies were Van Pyre, Treatsies, Eeks, Boneses, and Sheetsies - introduced on August 1, 2008.

Ty Store has removed the St. Patrick's Day Beanie Baby 'McLucky'. However, this Beanie is still listed as "current" on Ty's BB2.0 list. Click here to view the list. (McLucky was introduced by Ty on February 13, 2008.)

Maybe the Holiday Beanie Babies will be removed from Ty Store soon? We shall see!

... Ty Guy 'Totally Troy'
If you're interested in the new Ty Guy joining your Ty Girlz collection, you can now purchase the first one in the 'series' ... Totally Troy is now available in Ty Store . The Ty website also mentions he is available at your local retailer, which can be located by clicking here.
