There are also three 'versions' of Bali the Komodo Dragon, not
including the
keychain version . The U.S. Exclusive version, as well as the Shedd Aquarium version, were both introduced on (shall we say) May 30th.
The original version was introduced on December 30, 2004, and retired on

.... 2006 Summer Trade Shows
It's hard to believe June is (almost) here! As most
collectors know, that is typically the beginning of the Summer Trade Shows (with
Ty in attendance). The Dallas Gift Show begins this list and runs June
23-26. A schedule of these Shows has been shared by a reader and posted on
Bean Watcher's website. The front of the card shows a (yet unnannounced)
Ty Bear; the back of the card shows a schedule of the Shows.

know there were keychains for those beanies or was that something exclusive for

Where, or where, can 'Homeland' be? That's one Beanie Baby
I'd definitely like to add to my collection ... a red, white and blue "Doodle"
:) Has it shown up in the U.S. yet? If you have found it, I'd love
to hear from you. Our friend Sakurako of Japan (Bottega

Karenbrit helped me get Kernow & his
card (also the Fun & Laughter keychains). Kernow's style number is 46057.
The card that came with Kernow is a great way to share May Day celebrations
here. Karen showed me how her beanie book worked out with the binding chopped
off & a spiral binding put on instead. I'm definitely going to get that done.
Much more convenient & I can add my update sheets. A great idea, Karen!

Australia / New Zealand Exclusive Beanie Baby. Majestic was
introduced by Ty on April 21st to commemorate the 80th birthday of Queen
Elizabeth II. (Incidentally, Majestic's birthday is also April 21, 2006.)

Beatrix Potter Beanies ... and More
Beatrix Potter Beanies - Update
I've just heard by email confirmation from the
Beatrix Potter Attraction in the Lake District -
The Three Beanies - Peter Rabbit, Jeremy Fisher and Pigling Bland will
be officially launched at the World of Beatrix Potter there on
June 10th, and also at Harrods on
the same day!! These will be the only outlets intially.
They hope to be set up for pre-orders by the middle of next week!

George Visits Riverside Stadium
By chance I live quite close to Middlesbrough, in the North East
of England, so today George has visited the Riverside Stadium, home of
Middlesbrough Football Club. Just a Football Stadium?....well, not
quite!
There are 2 reasons for George to visit here - firstly Middlesbrough
play in the UEFA European Cup Final tomorrow night against Sevilla in
Eindhoven, Holland...so there is great excitement locally this week!
But secondly, the real link is that the Manager of the Middlesbrough
Team,
Steve
McClaren!, is to become the new England Manager after the
World Cup in June. At present he is second-in-command of the National
Team...so George wishes him all the luck in the world, both this
week...and for the future!
Exciting times!

....
What a wonderful week....all the sights
of a beautiful part of the UK, at the southernmost tip of the
country...and Kernow too!!
The Obby Oss festival in Padstow on May Ist was the perfect setting for
the launch of this special Ty exclusive. The small village on the North
Coast was packed with visitors...in fact it was hard to get through the
crowds and find the shop! But once there, what a great welcome from
Jenni, who has worked so hard for so many collectors across the world -
she is a terrific person, and has more than done her bit in re-igniting
the chase for Ty over here - she was brilliant!
On hand also was Morley Lester, the Ty representative - the man behind
this launch, and who worked so hard that day, greeting visitors,
answering questions, signing cards etc. I was able to have several
conversations with him that morning...and I must say he came across as
friendly, very enthusiastic and dedicated to the Ty product in the UK.
With people like him at Ty UK, then the future looks bright!
And then there were the surprises, which I think have already been
reported - all the new releases for May, in the same place on the same
day (!) ....and of course the first appearance of George, which really
was unexpected. It was an expensive day....but great fun too. And there
were a few hints about other things to look forward to later in the
year....well done to all concerned!!
The transition from Ty Europe to Ty UK has been difficult, as we
know, but I think there's a real chance for Ty UK to re-create a market
in the UK, and I sincerely hope that TY Inc will encourage that. It's
always easy to criticise....but now it's time to be positive - this
launch proved in it's own way that the magic is still there!|
And as for Kernow himself - a lovely new face bear in the fur, and very
well designed with the Cornish flag and tartan - one smart bear! I
understand that Ty needs to adapt, try new styles etc - that's what a
successful business should do - and this has certainly been apparent
over the past year or so. However, the new face bear must rank as
their design classic - instantly identifiable as Ty, however it is
presented, and whereever you see it. Maybe we will see less of them
now.....but this style will always say "Ty at it's best" ...so keep them
coming. Kernow proves yet again that the style is a winner!
Sincere thanks to Jenni
and Marcus at Cornish Delights for all their hard work, to Morley for
flying the Ty flag so brilliantly...and to the Swallow Brothers at Ty UK
for their backing of the brand. Ty, if you are listening...this was a
great day!

My brother has asked me to list the 2 beanie bears you found out the
information for me. I have put them on ebay ... and was hoping you
could let the world know through your website. They have also
given me another, what I believe is a very, rare item to sell which is a
Ty Beanie Babies Jigsaw Puzzle. This amazingly was never opened and is
still in it's factory sealed box. I believe these were extremely
limited in their production. I would be so very grateful for your
help in letting all the collectors out there know about these 2
auctions.
