Today is the official launch of the anticipated Cornish Exclusive bear at Abbey Bears in Padstow, Cornwall, UK. A very limited edition "version" is also expected to be introduced, as well as a surprise with the retail bear. A special prize is also to be given away to winners of a raffle to be held. ... World Challenge Expedition ... A Message From Sue
Sue Owen shares the following:

Hi, ... The final special edition Ty Beanie "The End" ... is currently on sale in aid of my son Matthew Owen's forthcoming World Challenege expedition to Honduras. Matthew has raised all of the money for this venture through his own efforts and is looking forward to an exciting and challenging trip this July, which will include trekking as well as a community project.

This final bear represents the final push to achieve the grand total required for this challenge - Matthew will have covered all of the costs himself, including the fare, the food and accomodation (mostly tented), his vaccinations and special clothing and equipment and the funding for the community project.

There are 50 bears in this edition and over half have already been sold to previous customers who purchased the other bears in the series. "The End" bear is dressed as a Honduran farmer, wearing a straw hat with a colourful band and a woven hammock slung across his body.

CHERISH will soon be selling some more wonderful items in aid of Cancer Research UK so please visit the CHERISH website to learn more later this month. I am delighted to report that I raised the highest total in the county of Buckinghamshire for Cancer Research UK's 'Britain's Biggest Breakfast' this year; this was through the sale of CHERISH Global Breakfast bears, auctions and through holding a breakfast for the staff at my place of work.

... Summerfest 40th Anniversary Bear
Karen shares news with collectors (via Ms Janie) that there will be a Summerfest 40th Anniversary bear in Milwaukee. Reportedly 10,000 were made - Summerfest will have 7,000 on their grounds and 3,000 will be sold at local retailers in Wisconsin.

... May 2007 BBOM
Ty has introduced the May 2007 'Beanie Baby of the Month' today ... welcome 'Marsh'. This Beanie Baby is # 53 in the series since the BBOM series began. (The April 2007 BBOM 'Palace' is now retired.)
