12:05 am EST ... We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and plan to relax today. We've had a houseful of relatives visiting, filled our tummies with lots of food, and plan to relax a bit today. Although everyone doesn't leave until tomorrow, I do NOT anticipate being one of those participating in the 'biggest shopping day of the year' today.

It's quite likely that Ty will retire 'TURK-e' Beanie Baby today at Ty Store. I would imagine Christmas 'graphics' will soon appear ... even perhaps the introduction of a Christmas theme Beanie ... 'CAND-e' maybe? Hopefully everyone has ordered 'TURK-e' that wished to do so; I'd keep an eye on Ty Store.

I find it difficult to believe that December is just around the corner (although our recent cold weather here is a quick reminder). So what's 'expected' to happen in the upcoming weeks? Presumably some Beanie (and Buddy) retirements at Ty? ... (TURK-e is a pretty safe assumption), as well as maybe September and October BD Bears. What about Sakura II and Wattlie? Don't you wonder when one of those sporadic retirement moments may hit Ty? And then we await new releases for December. And new Asia Pacific Beanies soon?

It's usually a busy time of year for most. Just remember to take time to spend with friends and family, be safe, and enjoy. And keep expecting that 'unexpected'.

Several readers have brought to our attention that the Portsmouth Football Club UK site has posted an announcement regarding the 'Pompey' Beanie Baby. The info reads:

"No More Beanies For Now ... The clamour for Pompey Beanie Bears refuses to die down. Despite a plea for no more requests they keep on coming in from all over the World. ... The Beanie Bears made as an exclusive product for the club by our sponsors Ty, are currently out of stock as shop staff clear the backlog of thousands of orders which have come flooding in. No more orders are being taken. ... For customers in America who have already pre-ordered their bears the club would like to confirm that these will be delivered within 8-10 weeks due to the demand. This is unlikely to be before Christmas. ... And when will more Beanie Bears arrive? It is impossible to say but as soon as they do it will be here, and here only, on the official web site."


 ... Do You Wonder?
While looking over the Beanie Buddy list, I noticed three Buddies still current that were first introduced at the Dallas Gift Show in June 2000 - Large and X-Large Schweetheart, and Sneaky. How's that for the longevity of a Buddy? Unity Buddy is next in line, introduced in October 2001. Just wondering why?

Then again, why the introduction of TURK-e still swirling on Ty's main page? Don't we 'expect' it to retire soon? ... perhaps along with some others over the next few days?

Okay, they say - patience is a virtue. But we still say ... hmmm.

A: Most of the Beanies are very spontaneous. I always carry a sketch pad so when an idea hits me I can record it right on the spot. Colors and fabrics are key Beanie ingredients and to complete the process . . . . a name and poem.

 ... Pompey and UK Exclusive Trio

Hi Deb
I thought I'd let you know I am one of the lucky ones!!!! I got home from work yesterday to find a delivery from Portsmouth Football Club containing a very carefully wrapped "Pompey" beanie baby. I feel extremely privileged as I had expected that I probably wouldn't get one as the number of orders were so high!!!

Lets see what the "Beanie of the month" will bring!!!

Hi Deb,
My local Ty retailer called me today to tell me the delivery she received today. She was not impressed ... she got a few of the newbies and Christmas Boppers but didn't get the 3 UK exclusive (Rose, Thistle and Daffodil.) She phoned Ty and her Ty Rep and was told that the UK
exclusives were out of stock and that no more were being manufactured, only orders placed to Ty before 1st November have received deliveries, retirement on the horizon?

Oh and another piece of news form the Ty Rep - something big is coming for the UK in Februrary that can only be ordered at the NEC trade fair.

Thanks for sharing, Steven. From the pictures I've seen of Pompey, it's a nice bear to add to anyone's collection that is lucky enough to get one. Also ... there have been several 'rumors' circulating as to the availability of the UK Exclusive 'trio'. I suppose we shall see over 'tyme'.

 ... 'Hodge Podge' Variations - More pics
As an update to yesterday's note, Nancy K. sends us another email. She is one of the lucky ones to now have the two noted versions of Hodge Podge, and writes:

I found the second HodgePodge today at a second store.  I am attaching a new picture of both  of the variations so you can see the different paws.  The retailer did receive one bag of this new beanie, and all were the same in the bag.  The variation is like Frankenteddy with different feet.  The material is the same on the rest of both beanies - just the paws are different.  This is not just a difference in material shading, but a different color and different material on the paws.  Hope you can tell from my pics, I only have a very cheap camera, lol.  Thanks.

Here we go again!  LOL .  I am attaching a picture of the Hodge Podge I purchased Saturday.  It looks a little different than some of the other pictures being sent in.  Mine looks like the one in the Ty site with red front paws and blue back paws.  Some of the pictures I am seeing  show a

... Update on Ms. Janie
As some of you may know, Ms. Janie has not been feeling well for the last couple of weeks. Well, she finally broke down and went to the doctor! It was not a stomach virus as she thought, but a gastric ulcer and diverticulitis. If you are a subscriber of her newsletter, please be aware that you may not receive one for a couple of days. However, please note that she will update her site as soon as possible. We wish her a speedy recovery! (Not too much holds her down; I imagine she will be 'back' soon!)

Do you remember all the Beanie Baby candidates in 'The People's Beanie' contest? There were nine Beanies to choose from ... of course we all know 'Classy' was the winner. The names of the others were Baby, Dreamer, Razzle, Shimmer, Winner, Charmer, Gem and Fancy. Although 'just a thought', maybe some of these names will be chosen for the 'Beanie of the Month' next year. (You can check them out at the link below.) Just a bit of information you might like to know and somewhat strange, my local retailer was able to order the German exclusive Bopper Paula Plappertasche on her last order and I picked one up from her store today, this seems very odd!!! Maybe it wasn't selling too well in Germany, the tag is in German..... Also to confirm what you may already have heard the Europe exclusives (Rose, Thistle and Daffodil) are apparently one delivery per account only 18 of each design, could turn out to be quite rare.
