As an update to yesterday's news on a new Asia Exclusive Beanie Baby ... a reader from Malaysia shares additional news with Ms. Janie:
(Note: This Beanie has not yet been officially announced by Ty.)

"Loong" is Mandarin for "dragon".   The Loong beanie's hang tag has the Chinese writing for "dragon" under the name Loong.  Its date of birth is September 9, 2005.

Its poem reads:
Look at the night sky and you'll see
Stars shining back at you and me
Each represents what used to be
Thousands of dragons roaming free!

Our special thanks to Marilyn for sharing the following:

Good Evening & Happy Halloween (almost).  I was on my way to met a friend for dinner & was a little early so I stopped to check for Gift the buddy at a Hallmark store.  No Gift the buddy, but saw some bags on a table... one bag solid red, one bag solid green & one bag solid white.  What was this?....why it was the Gift Jingle beanies!  When I asked about Season's Greetings & Happy Holidays, they were still in the back, but clerks volunteered to bring some up to the counter for me if I wanted.  Yes I did.

I arrived at the restaurant a little late, but with goodies in hand as my friend likes beanies as much as I do.

I was talking with Karen on the phone this evening & she asked me if the new Hallmark beanies are filled with fluff or filled with beans.  So I checked & the arms & legs are stuffed with beans...not fluff as the beanies have been lately.

Hauled out my bird scale & told it to weigh in ounces instead of grams.

Season's Greetings weighs 4.9 oz.  Dimples which also has more beans weighs in at 4.8 oz.

Goody only weighs 3.7 oz & the Asia Pacific beanies weigh even less at 3.6 oz.

So the beans are back....let's let Ty know that we like our beanies that way.  My grandson was tossing around one of the older Ty critters the other day, and it hit the ground with a nice bean filled sound.  Now that's a beanie!

This week sees the end of the CHERISH THINK PINK 2005 fundraising campaign in aid of Cancer Research UK's pioneering research using international scientists looking for a cure for breast cancer ...

CHERISH is ending the fundraising with a series of 10 Aware Beanies being offered on eBay with a special package called 'All Walk Together'. This comprises a pale pink 'hoodie' with the CHERISH logo embroidered on it, a serially numbered necklace, special commemorative card (also numbered), some rose petal bath goodies (perfect for use after a long walk - or skydive!) and much more ...

After a short lull we will be moving right away from pink towards remembering Heroes and celebrating peace with the launch in November of the CHERISH peace bear as well as some very special auctions for signed and commemorative and patriotic items

Thanks to the generosity of supporters all over the world there will be all sorts of collectable items, ranging from Ty products (some dressed and some Japanese commemoratives) to costume jewellery - including, I am proud to say, one of the VERY rare and very much sought-after Cancer Research UK/Wallis charms bracelets - these sold out within hours of going on sale recently. Just check the completed items on eBay and you will see what a clamour there has to get hold of one of these special bracelets that features charms designed by celebrities!

Hi Deb, I have a question.  Perhaps someone can help,  I haven't found the 3 new Beanies Goody, Tasty, and Yummy yet.  But I'm a bit confused with their poems, at least what's posted on Ty's website!  I've also been reading what's on the Ty Cyberboard.  There are some possible reasons that people have suggested but I'm still confused.  What do you think?  Thanks, Emily R.

Doodle's note:  Thanks for writing, Emily.  An interesting question indeed.  Goody and Tasty seem to have reverse poems; Yummy refers to his peppermint.  One of the enjoyments of collecting Ty is the anticipation, as we often wonder what's up his sleeve.  Tyme will surely tell what he has in store.  I have posted each of the Beanies below, with the poems as they appear on Ty's website.

  ....  BBOC Offer - Update
In addition to the BBOC Beanie photos posted earlier (see our news of October 3rd), it appears that there will be variations to several of these Beanie Babies.  If you recall, the original nine Beanies (now as special BBOC Beanies with BBOC logo) had different variations.   Listed in Ty's current Beanie Baby listings now are Spot (with and without a spot), Brownie/Cubbie, Pinchers/Punchers, and Patti (purple and fuscia).  It's just a matter of tyme before we will find out exactly what Ty has in store for us!

Ty posts a Newsflash today, announcing the new 2005 BBOC offer.  The BBOC offer of the original nine Beanie Babies are available to registered BBOC members for $45.00 per set.  (Shipping and handling costs are based on the total numbers of sets ordered.)  There is a maximum of four (4) sets of the original nine Beanie Babies per order.  The offer is good from October 3, 2005 though December 2, 2005 or while supplies last.  To log in for more information and to order your set, visit the Beanie Babies Official Club here.

On January 31, 2005, Ty introduced Garfield's bear 'Pooky'.  This Buddy is still listed as 'current'.  On September 30, 2005, Ty released 'Pooky' again, a different version with a festive hat.  A comparison of both these Buddies can be viewed below.
