How about all that????!!!!!!!!!
These items range from very small....to very large...many are in box frames, specially for the occasion....but there's no doubt they are all going to contribute to a very special evening. All places for the event have been taken, and there will be up to 20 phone lines too, as there has been huge interest from both at home and abroad.

And I haven't even mentioned all the other things on offer on Friday...to buy, to swap, the quiz......but most of all, it's an opportunity for friends to meet and collectors to get together...and to raise a lot of money for the Great Ormond Street Children's Charity, based in London, but serving the UK as a whole. The Ty UK team have worked really hard to get this event off the ground....and now it's up to all the guests to make it a huge success and a memorable evening!

Today the Ty UK team have been photographing the auction items....and tomorrow I will be sending them as well, with a final update!

All this....and then Harrods the next morning..........I cannot wait!!

Waiting on the next update of the upcoming Ty UK Collector's Party is like reading a good book, when you just can't wait to see what's happens in the next chapter. Our friend John (the phoenix) shares more news on the upcoming Ty UK Collectors Party. He writes:

Hi Deb,
Less than a week to go now, and the final touches are being put in place for the Party on Friday....the full auction list will be published on Tuesday/Wednesday for all to see.

Many who are attending are thinking about swaps for the Swap Shop...it will cost £1 to swap your item, and the money will go straight to the Children's Charity. Time to sort out those spares...or to look for something you may have missed!

Looking for something signed??? It's a good bet that there will be a few items with that famous signature...a bear or two, I'd say....but expect the unexpected too!

There will be other signatures to add to your collection as well.....a Hollywood actress from a forthcoming film set in the Lake District, a famous British chef with a restaurant in Cornwall, and a former employee of a member of the Royal Family......but what have they signed??

Our friend John (the phoenix) shares additional news on the upcoming Ty UK Collectors Party. He writes:

Hi Deb,
It's already known that Harrods will be launching 2 beanies on Saturday 4th November... I can confirm that there will be another bigger friend with them!

A certain number of the beanies will be boxed and numbered, like the Shooting Stars were last year...... but how many?....we'll have to wait and see!

However, the "Number 1" of both beanies will be auctioned on Friday night at the Ty Collectors Party...and they have both been signed by Mohammed Al Fayed, the owner of Harrods! These will be among at least 20 items in the auction, including some Ty memorabilia never seen before - a full list will be published during next week, and I will send more information when I can.

The Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity will accept credit cards as well as cheques and cash....and I can also confirm that there will be phone lines available for bidders who are not able to attend. There have already been enquiries about this, so contact Ty UK if you want to take part!

Light refreshments and a bar will be available, and confirmation emails wil be sent to those who have registered by the end of this week - this promises to be a very special evening!!

There is a new bear in Ty's Classic listing on the website that says "available only at Walgreens". It's name is Sugarbeary -- and I have no idea when it first appeared there. I LOVE the Ty Classics and check the Ty site almost every day -- But I haven't checked it lately as I was out of town for a week. I was actually checking for the silent retirements that Ty can infamously do when I saw this new bear. Any idea when it appeared? Not long to wait now for the launch of the Harrod's bears on Saturday 4th November - but there's an extra this year - current UK members of the BBOC have been receiving emails today from Ty UK inviting them to a Beanie Baby Collector's Party the night before!

This special charity event will be held at the Millennium Hotel, in Knightsbridge, London between 7pm and 10pm on Friday 3rd November and all proceeds will go to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

During the evening there will be a charity auction, a swap shop, a beanie quiz and unique collector's Ty memorabilia...as well as the opportunity for members to meet each other informally.

The event will be limited to 200, and I know that members are already signing up to be there - it looks like it's going to be an exciting night, and a great prelude to the next day!

... CHERISH Auction Update
Sue Owen shares the following:

Hi,
I just wanted to let you know about the 20 'Be Aware Bears' that will be offered for sale from the CHERISH website (http://www.cherishonline.co.uk ) this Sunday from 4pm UK time. All proceeds will be donated to Cancer Research UK for research into Breast Cancer.
Please note that it is important to refresh the Home Page on Sunday in order to view the link to the order page!
You can read the ordering details on the website and see many photographs of these lovely bears. There are 10 each of Aware and Awareness Beanie - the 2005 and 2006 Ty bears, which have already been sold to raise money for a similar cause (the Susan G Komer Foundation in the USA). The bears will come beautifully packaged in pink tissue and gift bags.

Jennifer (aka PattiBuddy) has so kindly knitted sweaters for all of these bears, in glorious shades of pink, each sweater different to the others. The sweaters on the Aware Bears are striped and have an awareness ribbon symbol beaded onto the front; the sweaters on the Awareness bears have the symbol incorporated into the knitted design. The bears come with an array of accessories, including the special Canadian Breast Cancer Awareness quarter, a Breast Cancer Care bracelet, a Cancer Research UK pin badge and CHERISH commemorative card and postcard with a 5 point guide to breast checks. Aware comes with a special CHERISH mobile phone dangles sporting a CHERISH Italian charm and Awareness with an awareness ribbon print bean bag seat. Each bear is numbered on the back of its extra ear tag (1-10) and wears a CHERISH leather ear tag and neck ribbon.

You will need to be quick in ordering as these are very limited in number! However, there will be one extra of each bear offered through bidding auctions on eBay, along with many other pink-themed goodies to suit all budgets. These will include Japanese promotional Beanies, Ty Store exclusives, Cancer Awareness items from around the world and handcrafted items. I am also hoping to offer something very unusual - it will appeal more to British collectors, I imagine - in particular, fans of the TV series 'Bad Girls' - watch this space!
