 ...  Ty Halloween Contest Ends Today
On Tuesday, October 16th, Ty launched the (annual) Halloween contest..  (Last year, it also began on October 16th.)    The Halloweenie Beanie contest was announced, where you could  vote for your favorite 'costumed' Beanie, as well as  enter (one entry per day) for a daily prize drawing.  The prize:  A Ty Halloween product assortment consisting of 1 Baron Van Pyre, 1 Haunting, 1 Witchy and 1 Scarem Beanie Baby, 1 Shivers and 1 Hootie Beanie Buddy, and 1 of Moonstruck.  Five (5) prizes have been awarded each day since then.
 
The Halloweenie Beanie Giveaway, per Ty's Daily Prize Drawing Rules & Regulations, ends at 3 pm CT today, October 31st.

Today Ty introduces Jubilant, a new Cracker Barrel Exclusive Beanie Baby.  This pretty angel bear comes in two 'versions', gold wings, bow, and nose - and silver wings, bow, and nose.  If you visit a Cracker Barrel soon, you may be able to pick up this Beanie.  Don't see it?  ...  perhaps you should ask ....  Marilyn shares the following:
 
Hi....I just read about this & called our Cracker Barrel & the lady I talked to found the box listed as X-mas in their storage area & not even opened yet.  When she plugged Jubilant into their computer, it didn't show up.  So I'll be able to pick up a couple of sets tomorrow & send pictures.  That was sure fast!!!

 ...  (Silent) Re-introductions
Thanks to Daniel of Beanie Universe who shares that four Bow Wow Beanies have been re-introduced for the upcoming holidays:  Chillin', (Christmas Bone) Green Snowflake, Stripe the Christmas Bone), and Zero.

Doodle's note:  These four Bow Wow Beanies had earlier retired (silently) on December 21, 2006.
 
It was also thought that two Pluffies had also been re-introduced as well ... 'Beary Merry' and 'Candy Cane' (or 'Candy Canes').  However, it was earlier reported (See October 4th news) that these two were placed "back in stock" and were placed on Ty's current Pluffies listing.  As I mentioned then, it is surely difficult to keep track of lists when there are products that are pre-released (announced but not yet available), current, sold out, retired, or back in stock / re-introduced.

I have received the new Beckett Plushie Pals magazine (issue #3) and they have a picture of a new TY Beanie Baby - PUSS IN BOOTS from the Shrek Movie. I am assuming they are coming out with Shrek Beanies? I am not sure as I haven't heard of anything about this, have you or any of your readers? Thanks

 HOW EXCITING!!  Today I had lunch with KarenBrit & she brought along a copy of the new Ty Beanies Tracker book for me to look at.  It is EVERYTHING a beanie collector could want.  Information & pictures on all beanie lines.  The layout is such that you can easily find whatever you want immediately.   It's a great book & I look forward to sending some pictures soon especially once she puts a spiral binding on the book.

Also got some new beanies on my way home, but having been gone for 3 days, I need to spend some time with family & flock.  Plan on seeing some new pictures Saturday.

 ...  Beanie Baby of the Month Program - January 2003 - December 2007
On November 8, 2002, Ty introduced the "Beanie of the Month" program.  The first Beanie Baby in the series was 'Sparkles', arriving in January 2003.  If you joined the BBOM program, each month a new Exclusive Beanie Baby is shipped to your door.  AND, if you continued to renew your membership each year after the first year - you would receive the next 12 !

However, this program is soon coming to an end, effective December 31st.  The following e-mail is being sent by Ty to BBOM members.

Dear Valued Member:
We would like to inform you that the Beanie Baby of the Month Club is coming to an end effective December 31, 2007. We have truly valued the continued support of you, our loyal members, over the years.

The 2007 December Beanie Baby of the Month will be the last Beanie Baby to ship to current members. For those of you who may be in the middle of your enrollments, be assured you will not be charged after the final shipment in December. Because Beanie Baby of the Month charges only occur when an order ships to you, additional charges to your credit card will not occur.

It's almost tyme for the October releases to show up in retail stores.  Keep you eyes open, especially if there's one you REALLY have to have.  All the Christmas introductions should definitely make it a hard choice.  My personal favorite?  ... Perhaps Hansel and Gretel ... BUT I know it will be a tough decision when they are all sitting there, begging for me to take them home!  :D

Many collectors who wish to attend the Harrods event on November 3rd may be interested in what Karen has to share.  She writes:

The excitement is building in the UK as 3rd November, 2007 approaches!  It definitely seems that if you can make the trip, you'll be in the right place at the right time.  Ty UK has been updating their database, and are ready to send invitations to those  planning to attend. Those who are not in Ty UK's database, who want an invite to Harrods, can email their information to:  info@tyuk.ltd.uk with their details.

 ...  Harrods 2007 Exclusive Beanie Baby Launch - Press Release (Update)
On October 2nd, John the phoenix (BeanieUK) shared a Harrods Press Release with the latest information on the upcoming Harrods Beanie Baby launch.

Reportedly there was a typing error in this press release, which stated there would be three (3) bears - it has been confirmed that there will be four (4).

Three of the bears will be  £6.95 (GBP) each, and the fourth (Sheba the Timeless Luxury Beanie Baby) will be  £9.95 (GBP).  There will be a limited number boxed with a certificate of authenticity.  No pre-orders will be accepted.

 ...  Billionaire 10 Bear Silently Introduced
As expected, there is no official announcement of the newest Billionaire Bear.  (See Tuesday, October 2nd news below for additional information.)  However, this new Beanie Baby has silently appeared in Ty's current list and has the following poem:

Without you I would not be here
We just get better every year
So here's the bear you've waited for
And here's hoping that there's 10 more !

Of course, this Beanie Baby has no birthdate.  I don't expect it will be listed in the 'current' listing of Beanie Babies too long; it should appear as 'retired' soon.

Well, is your favorite Beanie Baby / Buddy a pre-release (announced but not yet available), current, sold out, retired, or back in stock?

Ms Janie receives a note from a reader showing all the new October releases.   What's interesting is it also shows two Beanie Buddies 'back in stock' ... previously released and retired.  Click here to view   Last Saturday (see news below), Sandra wrote to us after noticing that 'Pooky' was back on Ty's current list.  (This sure does make keeping retired and current lists a challenge! :)
 
The two Buddies are 'Garfield Season's Greetings' and 'Pooky' - the Christmas version with the red hat.

- 'Garfield Season's Greetings' was introduced 9-29-06 and retired 12-21-06 - now 'back in stock'
- 'Pooky' (Christmas version) was introduced 9-30-05 and retired 12-29-05 - now 'back in stock'

The official launch of Harrods 2007 Exclusives has been moved back to November 3rd.  According to 'Secret Bean' and 'John the phoenix', Harrods has confirmed this as the official launch date (reportedly as well from Ty UK via an email).   So just a little over a month for UK collectors to prepare for the release ... the countdown begins.

My, how times flies!  It's hard to believe October is already here!  We can (probably) expect Ty to announce the October Beanie Baby of the Month today.  Of course, we should also see the October desktop wallpaper / calendar -- AND maybe a couple of Exclusive Beanie Babies will be announced soon ???  Time will tell.  Just keep an eye on the Ty website.   (Of course, we'll post the news here as soon as we can.)
