pointed us to a PRESELL auction on eBay, which said Ty would be
distributing 'Billionaire 6' Beanie Babies to their employees. A
company get-together was hold on September 13th at a downtown Chicago
hotel. The auction stated that the Bear would be given out at work
later this week.

Janie reports on an eBay auction today for the BILLIONAIRE 6
BEAR + INVITATION & ENVELOPE. The auction states:

Hurricane "Isabel'
Hurricane Isabel first hit our state (North Carolina) early
this morning and is traveling northwest, up the Eastern part of the
country. At last report, over 500,000 total people were without
power. We were one of the more fortunate ... others were not so
lucky. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are still in
the path of this storm.
(Updated note: As of Noon today, over 3 million people are now
without power. Looks like some busy times ahead for helping those in
desperate need of electricity, water, etc. A giant storm indeed!)

true! A few weeks ago, Ms. Janie (thanks to Sly) informed us of a
new Ty trademark application for the name 'Cure', listing 'plush toys'
as the goods and services. Many collectors thought perhaps a new
Beanie Baby would be introduced supporting Breast Cancer Research.
Several eBay auctions have recently appeared, 'preselling' a Beanie Baby
named 'Cure'.
Sue Owen points us to the 'Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation website', which states:
On
October 1, 2003, Ty Inc. will give birth to Cure™ - the newest member
of its cuddly family. The Pink Beanie Baby with a pink ribbon on its

Angela Kratchmer remembers well the day in 1998 she was diagnosed with
scoliosis, a lateral curving of the spine. And then, about a year and a
half ago, her doctor said she must be fitted for a brace. "I was
sad," Angela said. So the Clarksville 12-year-old is
collecting money to give children something soft to squeeze on that
hardest of days: a Beanie Bear. But Angela's teddies are unique. The
