I am aware that many CHERISH supporters have slowed down or indeed stopped their Ty collecting. I hope that this year's promotion will appeal to those people as well as to those collectors who are still very active in their hobby! YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY A BEAR!!!
Jennifer aka 'Pattibuddy' has been so kind as to knit 30 beautiful pink-themed Beanie sweaters, which she has decorated with a special CHERISH Think Pink 2007 logo. I have designed Beanie-size breast cancer awareness necklaces. You will be able to purchase a beautifully-packaged set of sweater and necklace, complete with the usual high-quality CHERISH gift card, magnet, tag and informative glossy postcard. The difference is that this time, the set does NOT include a bear! This will make the cost of postage less as well!
Your choice is whether to dress an existing pink bear or to use this year's Ty breast cancer awareness bear 'Giving', who looks perfect dressed in this year's CHERISH sweater. You may well have already bought 'Giving', so all you need to do is to place an order for the CHERISH Think Pink accessory set from next Sunday 7th October onwards.
I am hoping to hold some Think Pink eBay auctions during the month as well, under seller ID sue_owen. Items have already been kindly donated so I would respectfully request you NOT to send me any further donations of items as I may not be in a position to use them for fund raising this year, for the reasons explained earlier.

Boblins - 'Sold Out' in Ty Store
The first four Boblins introduced by Ty ... Gully/Gimmy, Yam Yam, Pi, and
Ruddle, are now listed as "sold out" in Ty Store. There are a total of
seven Boblins, representing the seven colors of the rainbow). Still
unannounced (maybe soon?) are three Boblins - Bodkin (blue), Omny (orange), and
Pinny (indigo).

Ty has announced two new Barnes & Noble Exclusive Halloween-themed Pluffies
today ... welcome 'Wingers' and 'Spooksie'. (Check out Spooksie's hat -
too cute!). These are only the second set of Pluffies Exclusives to be
announced by Ty. Two Ty Store Exclusives - 'Icebox' and 'Lil Icebox' -
were introduced on November 26, 2004.

Borders Exclusives 'Haunted' and 'Phantom'
A post on the Ty Cyberboard by 'Pam' yesterday mentioned two Borders Exclusive Beanie
Babies, of which two Halloweenie Beanies with the same name had already been
introduced. Marilyn and Dan both share photos of these new Beanies, yet to
be announced by Ty. There's a slight difference in the Halloweenie Beanies
vs the regular Beanie Babies, as can be seen in the photos. (Marilyn even
inserted some treats in Haunted's bag.) Photos of the hang tags are also
included.

Companies Want Part of 50th
Daytona 500

Holiday Inn and UPS are among the promotional partners this fall that have
initiated plans to activate around the 50th running of the Daytona 500.
Companies representing more than 40 brands are spending a combined $100 million
in activation during International Speedway Corp.'s yearlong promotion of the
2008 Daytona 500, said ISC and NASCAR officials. ....
NASCAR, which earlier this year struck a deal to become ISC's licensing agent, has recently sold the "50th race" mark to a variety of licensees, including Pez Candy and Ty Inc., the maker of Beanie Babies.
This fall also marks the next phase of Kroger's program, which features close to 40 products with "50th race" packaging available exclusively at Kroger supermarkets. Retail Sports Marketing has orchestrated the program, bringing Nabisco, General Mills, Kellogg, Unilever and others on board.
Logo products have been appearing on Kroger's shelves throughout the past month, and more support through inserts and direct mail will be emphasized. ...
